We had the chance to stay a couple of days at the SOPHID Wellness Suites and it was beyond incredible. Located on a hillside, just above the popular Amoopi Beach, it features 20 stunning suites with private pools which would fit any 5-star resort in the world. All of them have breathtaking ocean views, spacious furnished terraces and extremely comfortable bedrooms. We loved every second here, and spent most of our days chilling by our own large swimming pool. Another highlight was the fantastic restaurant which served an amazing breakfast where they rolled out different trolleys straight to our table and let us choose from all the delicious homemade goodies. During the four days we spent here we had the privilege of staying in a suite with a private pool. It was absolutely magical to wake up in the morning, lay down on a sunbed on the terrace and go for a swim in our own pool while enjoying the ocean views. Simply amazing! The same applies to the resort's delicious all-inclusive. It came with a free in-room minibar (refilled daily), and unlimited food and drinks in both buffet-style and in a range of á la carte restaurants (our absolute favorite was the pan-Asian). We finally booked a room at this magical 5-star hotel outside the town of Rethymno. And it was among the best decisions we've made, the hotel was absolutely incredible. The various accommodations consisted of swim-up rooms with direct access to a shared swimming pool and stunning villa-style rooms with its own private pool. Most of them featured amazing panoramic views of the sea and the fantastic surrounding Greek landscape. The all-inclusive dining was in our opinion astonishingly good. Especially the Italian restaurant that served perhaps the best Carbonara we've ever had! Also, our kids (and to be honest, us adults too..) loved the kiosk at the beach that served unlimited ice cream and freshly made crepes every day. Set directly on a gorgeous private beach within a 10 minutes walk to Pigadia - the main town of Karpathos. We found this place to be one of the highlights of the summer. And the biggest reason for that is the amazing split level suite we had. It boasted a private plunge pool just outside the room which let us take a dip whenever we wanted! These modern rooms are ideal for families as the kids have their own room on the upper level, while the ground floor has a private entrance and another bedroom! And just a few steps away you reach the hotel's incredible facilities, including an infinity pool with striking views of the Aegean Sea. Highly recommended hotel! Read more
